School of Science and Engineering
The School of Science and Engineering Magnet, commonly known as the School of Science and Engineering or SEM, is a magnet college preparatory high school located in Dallas, Texas. It is located in the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center which is home to six magnet high schools in the Dallas Independent School District.
SEM has an emphasis on a a philosophy of hands-on science education, and specializes in offering science, technology, engineering, and mathematics courses.
Science and Engineering Magnet (SEM) is a college preparatory public high school that was created in 1982. The magnet school offers courses designed to allow students to acquire the necessary skills required to compete globally in the areas of Science and Engineering. The school provides an exciting and rigorous learning environment for both students and staff.
Admission to the School of Science and Engineering is based upon a student’s achievements and interest. All SEM students are required to participate in a comprehensive Pre-Advanced Placement and Advanced Placement curriculum.
