School for Advanced Studies

The School for Advanced Studies (SAS) is a SACS accredited dual-enrollment secondary school in Miami, Florida. It is part of the Miami-Dade County Public School System. It is located at five campuses of Miami Dade College: the Kendall campus, North campus, Wolfson campus, West, and Homestead campus.

SAS is ranked #6 out of the top 2000 public senior high schools in the U.S. in a report by Newsweek and The Daily Beast, 2nd out of all Florida schools, and 1st out of all Miami schools.

It is ranked #12 out of 30,000+ public senior high schools in the U.S. by Newsweek in 2012, and 3rd out of all Florida schools on the list.


School for Advanced Studies (SAS0 is a full time dual-enrollment high school initiated in the 1988-89 school year as a combined effort of Miami-Dade County Public SChools (MDCPS) and Miami-Dade College (MDC). 

High school students attending SAS complete their last two years of high school while attending MDC, and in most cases, simultaneously graduate with both a high school diploma and an Associate in Arts degree from MDC.
